“These girls are very important and precious to us because they are the leaders of tomorrow.” - Priscilla, co-founder of the Noah Mapalo Help Center
The third interview in the #DoingTheWork series is now live! In this conversation, I spoke with Priscilla, co-founder of the Noah Mapalo Help Center.
Priscilla shared some inspiring stories covering:
Why she donated fertilizer to Zambian communities in need for Christmas instead of chocolates
Her experience raising funds to build a roof for a Zambian school
The challenges she has faced running a charity in two countries simultaneously
The value of having a diverse staff from Ghana, Nigeria, the UK, and France
Later in the interview, we were joined by Noah Mapalo Help Center’s Zambian program director!
When asked about what advice she had for others interested in giving back to their communities, Priscilla answered, “Focus. Don’t give up. You don’t need to have a lot of money. Start small. Any little helps.”

To listen to Noah Mapalo Help Center’s Events Coordinator talk about the center’s mission, events, and initiatives, you can watch this video.
To watch Noah Mapalo Help Center’s community events for Christmas, you can click here to watch a performance from famous Zambian performer B Flow and click here to watch as Miss Africa Great Britain and B Flow hand out presents as a part of the Noah Mapalo Help Center feeding program. The help center team celebrated Christmas with vulnerable children who could not afford to have Christmas at their homes.
Noah Mapalo teaches girls and women how to make reusable pads as a means to develop new skills and socialize. After COVID-19 started to impact the communities they work with, the girls were taught how to make face masks. These masks were distributed to vulnerable communities in Zambia.
Pads are normally donated to vulnerable school-aged girls and to inmates in Zambia. At the moment, the help center is struggling to afford the materials to make the pads, and they are currently fundraising to continue this crucial work.
